The American Securitization Forum is pleased to offer the ASF Securitization Institute, an industry-developed education and training curriculum covering core securitization market topics and concepts for securitization industry professionals.

All sessions are designed and taught by distinguished securitization market participants.  Click here to obtain information on the faculty from previous offerings of the Institute.

All sessions are currently delivered in New York in a live, lecture-style format, accompanied by audio-visuals and written background materials distributed in advance of the session to serve as recommended reading prior to the session.

All ASF Securitization Institute offerings include:

  • Key similarities and differences among various asset classes - MBS, ABS, ABCP, CDOs, derivatives and index products
  • Analysis of asset & product specific issues – prepayment speed, underlying asset performance, & frontiers of securitization technology
  • Case studies of securitization transactions
  • Introduction to emerging and esoteric asset classes
  • Overview of covered bonds
  • Securitization market implications of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP)

Other Information

Each session will be presented by one or two primary speakers. All Institute faculty are recognized industry experts who are experienced in and knowledgeable about the topics they present.

The ASF Securitization Institute is designed as a rigorous education and training curriculum. Students who complete both the Securitization Fundamentals and Applied Securitization sessions, or the Comprehensive Institute, and pass the final examination will receive an ASF Securitization Institute Certificate.

CPE, New York CLE, and CFA Institute CE credits are available for those who complete the relevant sessions.  Please click here for more information on continuing education credits.

All ASF Securitization Institute sessions will be held in Conference Rooms A and B on the 17th floor of ASF's New York City Headquarters at 360 Madison Avenue (entrance on 45th street).  Please click here for directions and here for area hotels.

Each session will be followed by a networking reception with fellow students and faculty.

Future Considerations

Holding the Institute outside of New York City in locations such as Southern California and Chicago are currently being considered for future offerings of the Institute.

In the future, there may also be the possibility of offering the ASF Securitization Institute via recorded or live webinar, complete with video feeds of the instructor as well as all accompanying audio visual presentations and written materials.
