August 31, 2012

On August 31, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that the fees that public companies and other issuers pay to register their securities with the SEC for fiscal year 2013 will be set at $136.40 per million dollars, an increase from $114.60 per million in fiscal year 2012. The SEC sets rates for these fees in order to collect an amount equal to annual statutory target amounts, which for FY13 are projected to be $455 million. Under changes made by the Dodd-Frank Act, the new annual rate will take effect on October 1, 2012.
