On October 3, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) announced that Charles Taylor, Deputy Comptroller for Regulatory Policy, has been selected by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to chair its Standards Implementation Group (SIG). The SIG is responsible for promoting greater effectiveness and consistency in the implementation of Basel Committee guidance and standards, including its capital standards framework, and various subgroups will focus on the calculation of risk weights for the banking and trading books, operational risks, Pillar II issues, supervisory colleges, and SIB supervision.
