OCC Comptroller Curry Delivers Speech re Basel III

On October 15, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) Comptroller Thomas Curry delivered a speech in San Diego, CA regarding the Basel III notices of proposed rulemakings (NPRs), specifically in relation to the community banking system. Comptroller Curry particularly discusses issues concerning, among other things, the treatment of accumulated other comprehensive income (AOCI) and high volatility commercial real estate and residential mortgages, as well as the cost burdens of compliance.
