New York, NY—The American Securitization Forum (ASF) today released the agenda for ASF 2010, including panel names and speakers. The conference, which is the must-attend annual event for the securitization markets, features a comprehensive look at all of the significant issues facing the markets, as well as a rich array of regulators and market participants from every corner of the industry.
The conference is being held Sunday, January 31st through Wednesday, February 3rd at the Gaylord National Hotel in Washington, D.C. On Monday morning, February 1st, a distinguished panel of market participants, including Sanjeev Handa, Head of Global Public Markets at TIAA-CREF and Sean Dobson, CEO of Amherst Securities Group, will explore the overall outlook for the securitizations markets in 2010. Immediately afterwards, another panel, featuring Steven Joachim, Executive Vice President at FINRA and moderated by Jason Kravitt, Senior Partner at Mayer Brown, will examine securitization policy reforms and the shape of things to come, including which reforms are most likely to be adopted and their potential impact on the markets. Later on, another panel will look at the FDIC’s Securitization Safe Harbor Reform Proposals. FDIC Deputy to the Chairman for Policy, Michael Krimminger, will offer some opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Tom Deutsch, Executive Director of the ASF.
Comptroller of the Currency John Dugan will be the featured speaker Tuesday morning. Later, another panel will look at mortgage modification and loss mitigation trends. The session will feature an opening presentation from Seth Wheeler, Senior Advisor of the Treasury Department. Another panel, exploring the future of the GSE’s, will examine how current markets will be transitioned into a new regime and will have panelists, including James Lockhart, Vice Chairman of WL Ross & Co and former Director of FHFA and Armando Falcon, CEO of Falcon Capital Advisors and former Director of OFHEO.
